Interview with Darke Conteur

The Blog Ring of Power Presents…
An Interview with Author Darke Conteur

Picture of Author Darke ConteurDarke Conteur writes Science Fiction and Fantasy. She is a Stay At Home Mom (SAHM) with a passion for writing. At the mercy of her Muse, she creates stories ranging from paranormal to science fiction, or whatever the Muse decides to whisper into her ear. When not writing, she looks after one Husband, one son (Sithboy), two cats, one kitten, and a ghost dog (yes, she said ghost dog).

Today Darke stopped by to talk about her current work, “Under Cover of Wicca”—the second book in the Watchtower Series. This is part four of a five-part interview. Be sure to check out the other BRoP sites for the rest of the interview: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 And be sure to visit T.W. Fendley's site tomorrow for Part 5

BRoP: Tell us about your new book and when it is out? Where can people purchase it?

Darke: My new book is called Under the Cover of Wicca and it came out at the beginning of February.

BRoP: Where can people purchase it?

Darke: Right now it's on Smashwords and Amazon. I'm looking into BN, Kobo and iPad.

BRoP: What was the hardest part of writing this book?

Darke: Keeping everything in order. There were parts when I'd be writing away and realize that what I just wrote isn't supposed to be revealed until a later book.

BRoP: What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?

Darke: I like writing about the characters powers, to see how far I can take it, or how I can make it different from other writers.

BRoP: If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in this book?

Darke: Nope!

BRoP: Tell us about your book’s cover – where did the design come from and what was the design process like?

Darke: I had a good idea of what I wanted when I talked to Calista Taylor about it. I wanted something that would set each book cover apart, but one or two things that would be the same on each one, a unifying symbol.

Where can your readers stalk you?

Is your book in print, ebook or both?

Right now, both are only available as ebooks, but I am planning on doing print versions in the future.

Cover of the Book The WatchtowerTHE WATCHTOWER: His first day of work wasn't what Martin Cunningham expected. A sultry boss, a classy receptionist, the drama-queen foreigner, and a painfully shy techie who prefers hiding to human interaction, was the oddest group of characters he'd ever met. When an assassination attempt is made against his new boss, Martin comes face to face with the stuff of nightmares.

Now he and his new co-workers must race to prevent another attack, but where do they start? There's very little to go on, and the only solid piece of evidence escaped through the u-bend in the toilet. By the end of the day, Martin becomes one of the privileged few who really understands what lies in the shadows, and what it means to work in THE WATCHTOWER.

Dover of Under the Cover of WiccaUNDER THE COVER OF WICCA: Victims of ritual sacrifices are showing up in one graveyard, and sixteen-year-old sensitive Janet Weiss is the only witness the police have.

With Janet's safety in question, Jezryall enlists the help of Rowan, a Wiccan Priestess and old friend. When followers of dark magic kidnap Janet in a brazen daylight attack, Jezryall and her team make a stand against the continuing threat.

The balance between good and evil is being methodically destroyed, and Janet's unintentional witnessing of the latest ritual may not be by accident. Jezryall and her staff must rescue the teen and stop the culprits before the balance of power is tilted more in favour of evil.

Failure is not an option, or Janet's soul won't be the only one condemned to Hell.
