The Blog Ring of Power Presents...
An Interview with Author S.J. Drum

Today, I am super thrilled to bring you an interview with fellow Eternal Press author S.J. Drum, who is here to talk about her latest book, "Caged in Myth." S.J. and I are "book-baby sisters"--we both released books at the same time from the same publisher (Surprisingly Supernatural came out at the same time as Hereafter), so we got to know each other as we navigated the release-date waters. S.J. is super nice, and I hope you all say hello to her! Oh, and did I mention Caged in Myth is only $0.99 right now?

This is part one of a five-part interview. Be sure to check out the other BRoP sites for the rest of the interview:
Part 2 @ Teresa's site - Thursday, March 28
Part 3 @ Emily's site - Friday, March 29
Part 4 @ Sandra's site - Monday, April 1
Part 5 @ Dean's site - Tuesday, April 2

BRoP: How long have you been writing?
S.J.: Professionally? About four years.

BRoP: When and why did you begin writing?
S.J.: I started crafting my first novel while I was on bed rest with my first child. I’ve been crafting stories and poems for as long as I can remember but didn’t attempt a full novel until the bed rest edict.

BRoP: Tell us about your early works—what was the first thing you ever wrote?
S.J.: A book about a permiscuous cat who lived in an attic. I was in the second grade and my mother typed it up and bound it into a book. :-)

BRoP: When did you first consider yourself a professional writer?
S.J.: When I signed my first publishing contract.

BRoP: What books have most influenced your life?
S.J.: The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, The End of the World as We Know It by Robert Goolrick

BRoP: If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?
S.J.: I was a zookeeper before taking up writing full-time. I’d probably go back to that.

BRoP: What format is your book available in (print, e-book, audio book, etc.)?
S.J.: ebook
