Day of the Dead

dayofthedead
Today is a BIG, BIG day! Not only is it Day of the Dead but I'm also a featured guest on Amy Sue Nathan's blog Women Fiction Writers!!! YAYYYYY!!! ::waves arms in the air like Kermit the Frog::

Day of the Dead is a "veneration of the dead" type holiday - similar to Chinese Ghost Festival - celebrated in Mexico and other, mostly Latin American, countries. It's a time for remember loved ones who have passed away with offerings of food and such. Be sure to leave a little something for passing spirits today.

Meanwhile, I am super, incredibly excited to be a guest at Women Fiction Writers. WFW is one of my favorite blogs and I'm thrilled to be able to showcase the women's fiction side of Hereafter - at its heart, Hereafter really is women's fiction, but it was hard to convince agents and publishers of that. In the end, Hereafter ended up in the contemporary fantasy market simply because that's the publisher who decided to believe in the story, so it's incredibly gratifying to be able to talk about the WF elements of Hereafter.
